The team is now deep into the preclinical work that will comprise the bulk of our application to the FDA in which we will seek approval for starting clinical trials with our cells in RP. As we get closer to this goal, the excitement is building among the team members, but so is the amount of work that needs to be done in order to keep things on track. This has made it difficult to post updates as frequently as I would like, however, I am happy to report that things are going very well and that is what is keeping us busy. We had a fruitful visit to our funding partner, the California Institute of Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and shared with them our excitement about our progress. There was also an article about me written by Ben Shaberman, that was recently posted on the website of the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB). That article has sparked a lot of interest from patients, so if you are interested in participating in the upcoming trial please contact my assistant, Karen Kahui, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All the best,
